Siddhar Adigurunatha
Just after being initiated by Ayya in His cave, I felt restlessness in me to write although there was no thought in me other than a joy which was overflowing like the warmth of fire. As I took the pen, I realized that my thoughts suddenly started as a trickle from a single pointed Source and then turned into a gush and unfolding before me as writing was divine poetry of higher tantric yoga. Just as I finished writing with the thoughts subsiding again, I was about to sign my name and then a loud voice in me said, 'Who are you to own up to this written! Sign as Adigurunatha'. I did sign as Adigurunatha, which means primal or ancient teacher or guru. A few hours later, I left for my annual pilgrimage to Pavannasam, an ancient spiritual center. On the way to this spiritual center, I was told that one the most ancient temple of South India dedicated to the son of God, Muruga was in a cave-temple by the river- side near town, Thirunelveli. Without hesitation I went into this temple that felt so familiar. Within the cave, I felt His presence. As I fell prostate to offer myself as surrender to Him, worshipped as the deity carved on the rock, I heard His voice saying, 'I am Adigurunatha and I am with you always'. Opening my eyes, I looked to read the inscription of the name of the deity below the divine rock form. It read ?Adigurunatha!?. This painting is He who so constantly erupts in me as inspiration and as guide! |
